Addional Bio Info: Moved to Jacksonville in 2000 from Coconut Grove, FL. 3 years older Brother - Served under MacArthur in Phillipines - Tank Operator. 3 years younger brother - missionary. 17 years old Dec. 1944 inquired into joining - mother signed April 1945, sent on train to Great Lakes Naval Training Center (Chicago). "Electrician Striker" (fireman - below deck on ship). Joined Reserves, not regular duty; didn't want to commit to Navy long-term. Post - Navy service became master electrician and contractor and founded Crawford Electric in 1960. Sold in 2000.
